Last Day

Today first we went by metro to the National Air and Space Museum,  we had a really good time and we went to watch an imax movie called ''legends of flights'', we went to simulator rides and a lot of more funny things. Later, we went to have lunch to the Mitsitam Cafe, at the National Museum of American Indian. Food was very good. After lunch we were suposed to go to the National Museum of Natural History, but it was closed, so we went to the American History Museum, which was very interesting.  There we saw the american first flag. Later we went to the Old Post Office Tower, were we acended to the top of the tower and we watched all the city. After that we went walking to the White House, which was very pretty. In front of the White House, there is a woman who is protesting since the year 1981, 30 years ago, and she lives there. She is against the nuclear weapons, and against Israel. We went to talk with her and we got really angry, she started saying that the holacaust never existed and she started steping on the Israel flag. Finally we went to the mall by metro and bought lots of cute things.
See you the day after tomorrow

Wednesday, October 13th...Our last day in Philly :(

Hi everyone!
Today we had a beautiful day in Philadelphia. The day started early in the morning (as always), so early that some of us woke up at 5:45 AM!
At school, we did plenty of things. Many of our hosts had the PSATS,  a "preparation exam" for their important STAS exam they´ll be taking next year. They had studied a lot, and the exam took plenty of time.
As they did the exam, we had a very interesting activity at the library. We saw a movie called "Like a fish without water", in which an Argentinian had emigrated to Israel and felt in love with his hebrew teacher. It made us remind a lot about our country, and its diferences with the USA and Israel.
After that, we had a regular shadowing day. We followed our hosts, going to classes and eating with them. Some of us had the luck of walking through the beautiful campus. It has a lagoon, a huge park, and many sports fields.
When the day was ending we felt really sad, because it was our last day at Barrack and we had to say goodbye to many new friends. Everyone at Barrack was really nice to us, they always helped us and talked to us. They are a very nice group.
Finally, each Argie went to their host´s house, and started packing and preparing everything for our next destination, Washington DC
Greetings to all of you

Tuesday October 12th

Today, Tuesday the 12th, we woke up very early as always, and we all met at school to take the bus together.
We arrived to the City hall but there, they told as that an elevator was broken so we couldn't get inside. After that we went to the love park were we took lovely pictures. Then we went to Betsy Ross house to see all her staff and things she used to make the flag of the United States of America and a girl that was supposed to be her explained us all, and then we walked in a very nice and old block were we also take lots of pictures and have a lot of fun. Our last place to go during the morning was the Federal Reserve Bank were money is put out of circulation, but unfortunately it was closed, and we finally went to have lunch because we were all very hungry at that time. We had lunch in a food court with lots of different variability of foods.
After lunch we spent all the afternoon in the Constitution Centre, there we first watch a woman who explained the history of how the nation was formed and goes up till the history of today, it represents all the citizens of the USA and their backgrounds. It was an interactive museum and we took pictures with the statues and there were lots of attractions. We left the National Constitution Centre, get into the bus again and we met with our hosts at school and go back to their houses.
We had a really grate time all together!

Monday, October 11th

Hi everybody! Today is Monday, October 11th, we woke up, very early, and we went to school. At the school we did what our host did, such as going to classes, eat, etc. But we had two especial activities today, the first one was in the art room where we made mezuzot to take them as a gift, we designed them as we want. It was a very entretaining activity! The other especial activity was in the auditorium, where we got a class of improvisations. We did a lot of games, it was so funny! We spent a great time together. So, today we had a great day at school but then everybody went to each house and has a different activity.
We are having a great time here in United States and we think everybody is happy with this trip.
Bye!

Sunday, October 10th (Juli's Birthday)

Hi everyone, we are Mayra Stein and Florencia Tuchinsky.
Today, it was a beautiful day, our first Sunday. Everyone went to different places, such as: amusement parks, New York, New Jersey or shopping like us!
It was a nice sunny day, perfect for being outdoors and celebrate, because today, it was Julieta Lumainsky's birthday!!! Unfortunately we didn't get to see her, but yesterday we were invited to a sleepover at her host's house.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULI!

During the day, we went to an outdoor shopping mall called Suburban Square that is really pretty and full of stores. Later on, that night, we had a Chinesse dinner, it was delicious!
Now we are preparing ourselves to go to sleep, because tomorrow we have to go to Jack Barrack school again, and we are having some special classes!
Hugs and kisses, May and Flor.

Hi everyone!, I'm Bren Kuzzel and I'm going to tell you about my first weekend in Philadelphia.
I sleep until 10 because we have a very long week so Rachel's mom let us sleep until that hour. Then we went to the synagog and we took care of the children. We went back home for lunch with our guests.
At 4 pm all the family took a nap up to 6 pm. When Shabbat finished we began to prepare our selves for party. We went to the party and we really had a good time there. I made a lot of American friends and I felt so comfortable with them.
I had a very nice day!

saturday, 9th of october

First weekend at Philadelphia!
Hi, I'm Cami Moguilevsky and I'm writing alone because I cannot match with my partners this day to write together.
We have been through a lot of fun stuff during the last days at school, and waking early, as the Franklin Institute, for instance.
But I think that today was the best day of all.
First because I get up at the tame that I want and, sleep 10 hours, wich is awsom.
But it was better also, because I have the freedom to do whatever me and my host choose, and not what the clases, schedules, or visits indicates.
So, when I woke up, I have breakfast and my host, Lili, was steel asleep so I was on  the computer, and then we go with Lili's das and Maia, my partner in Lili's hpuse, to rade the bikes along the different neighborhoods of the subur, wich was great because we saw in our way, lakes, and the day was really fantastic so we have really a good time.
Then we came back to lunch, and my host was already up, so we have lunch together and go to the mall.
Then we went to a Lili's friend party, in  which I had a great time because I could speak to everybody, and there were also "argies" (Argentineans) which I could speak to.
So it was a really goode and relax saturday, with all of the fun of being free of time!
We are really having an awsom time, and enjoying, even I;m sure we all miss.
hugs, and see you in a week

October 8th

Today we woke up and got ready for school, took the yellow bus and an hour and a half later we arrived at school. We met some friends of our hosts and talked for a while with my friends till the soft bell rang, meaning that classes were about to start. Our first class of the day ended really quickly, maybe because we were all very sleepy. Later on and after a couple more classes launch arrived, it`s the same line for everyone, so you wait till your turn comes to pick up your food. After eating we played a quick soccer match with our hosts and their friends.
At the afternoon we had a fun class of hebrew in wich the teacher sang jewish songs in like 5 different languages!!! Then It was time to go back home. The school bus that took us to Cherry Hill, took 2 hours till it arrived home.
Finally we had a Shabat dinner with some neighbours while we were watching the Philly`s match against Cincinaty. Now it`s time to sleep so we will leave you and someone else will keep telling you about our next day in Philadelphia

First day of school!

Hi! Today was our first day at school, we notice lots of difference between the Jack Barrack school and tarbut, Clases are shorter, they have only two only breaks, and they have to change of class every time a class finishes and sometimes we have to change from building . The school is so big that we can get lost, is has two different buildings and we have to rush for one to the other to get early to the class! The first class that Micaela had was hebrew and this subject is divided in like eight levels because of how you speak and she was in the best level everyone spoke so fluently and fast that seems to be their fisrt language and she didn't understand a word but then she has algebra and chemistry and in both subjects all the things the kids here were studying kids in argentina studied last year. In generally we had lunch with our hosts but some of them had to go to different clubs, like one which is called Riding Centre were kids who like are doing well in school help another that they are not so well in some subjects, or another club that is called Human Rights were some kids join to in a break get to together in a class an discuss different things that happen all over the world about this issue.About Roy' sexperience today, he  had a really good time with his host's friends and his host, all the clases were funny and very different from our clases at Tarbut Today we get out of school earlier so the school finshed at  2 15. we are having  a really good time here in Philadelphia and we hope we still having fun.
Cheers

Traveling

Hi there! we are Ezequiel and Martin and we will talk about the very interesting experience we lived while traveling to Philly. We departed from Buenos Aires on time. We have a great time on the airplane, with our friends. It was very crazy to watch ourselves in a large airplane, watching movies and trying to get some sleep. When we arrive to Atlanta, we were recieved by a very long waiting line in customs, and with some particular people. One man, whom we called "the T man", had a very strong and awful smell, as if he had not had a shower for days. After that, we were informed that our flight to Philly, had been delayed for 10 hours. We spend it them, traveling through the huge Atlanta airport, and we find a little spot for us to sleep. We called it "la cuevita". After some other delays our plane departed from Atlanta. As we landed in philly, we were caught in a huge thunderstorm, so the landing was dramatic. After that, we went to the school to meet with our host family. Tired but happy we went to their houses, and had our very desired sleep. Although we were very tired we managed to enjoy that day.

Greeting!
